TOPIC: The Information Blocking Rule - Key Concepts for Medical Practices

SPEAKER: Liz Heddleston, Attorney at Woods Rogers PLC

What's it all about?

The Information Blocking rule went into effect in April of 2021 and will impact every medical practice. If you’re not familiar with this newly passed legislation, you’re already a year behind. Liz will be walking you through Information Blocking Rule 101; what you need to know to make sure your practice is compliant, coupled with real-world scenarios.

The good news? The Department of Health and Human Services has not nailed down the penalties associated with noncompliance around the Information Blocking Rule. There will never be a better time than now to understand what this new legislation means and how it impacts daily operations within your medical practice.

Learning Objectives:

  • What is "information blocking"?
  • What are key legal exceptions?
  • Compliance tips for medical practices

Why should I attend?

The Medical Advisory Group is a peer advisory meeting for managers of medical practices (especially for physician-owned practices). This meeting is a resource for continuing education as well as sharing ideas among medical managers. For continuing education, there is a speaker that is typically a subject matter expert in an area in which medical managers would like more information or insight.  The peer advisory portion of the meeting comes through open-table discussion time when participants ask questions and share ideas.

What does it cost?

That's the best part about this. It costs you nothing. Nada. Zero. Zilch. $0.
